How it works

Video in, words out.

  1. 01

    Add your video

Drop an MP4, MOV, WEBM or MKV file, up to 5 GB, or paste a link from YouTube, Dropbox, Google Drive, Facebook or X. Private videos can’t be imported.

  2. 02

    We transcribe the audio track

The language is detected for you, and speaker labels tell the voices apart. An hour is usually ready in about five minutes on Unlimited.

  3. 03

    Edit and export

Fix the text while the video’s audio plays, then download DOCX, PDF or TXT, or SRT or VTT for subtitles. Or share a read-only link.

What you get

Built around finding what was said, and when.

  • A timestamp on every line

Find a moment in a long video without scrubbing through it. Search the text, then play from that line.

  • Speakers you can name

Interviews, panels and recorded calls: see who is speaking, and rename each voice once for the whole transcript.

  • Subtitle files from the same transcript

Export SRT or VTT when you need captions, or DOCX and PDF when you need a document.

  • Links as well as files

Paste a link and skip the download. YouTube, Dropbox, Google Drive, Facebook and X links work, as do public file URLs.

Good for

Made for video that has something to say.

  • Lectures and webinars

Turn a long recording into notes you can search and study from.

  • Interviews and recorded meetings

Pull exact quotes and decisions out of a recording, with the speaker named.

  • Screen recordings and tutorials

Get the words out of a walkthrough to write documentation or show notes.

Limits and plans, in plain numbers.

  • Free: 3 files a day, up to 30 minutes each, with speaker labels, timestamps and every export format.
  • Unlimited: $10 a month, billed yearly, with no cap on files or minutes and files up to 10 hours.

Private by default

Files are encrypted in transit and at rest, and never used to train AI models. Delete a file any time and it leaves your library at once.

Questions

Which video formats can I transcribe?

MP4, MOV, WEBM and MKV, up to 5 GB per file. Any common audio format works as well.

Can I paste a link instead of uploading the video?

Yes. YouTube, Dropbox, Google Drive, Facebook, X and public file URLs work. Private videos and pages that need a login can’t be imported.

Does it work if the video has no captions?

Yes. NiceScribe transcribes the audio itself, so the video doesn’t need captions.

Can I get subtitles from the same video?

Yes. Download the transcript as an SRT or VTT file from the same editor, on any plan.

How long can the video be?

Up to 30 minutes on Free and 10 hours on Unlimited. Files can be up to 5 GB on both plans. Free covers 3 files a day; Unlimited is $10 a month, billed yearly.
